A MESSAGE OF APPRECIATION TO ALL FAMILY MEMBERS  OF NIGEL HIGH SCHOOL

INA DOLINSCHEK SAYS "FAREWELL AND THANK YOU!” to each member of  staff, parents, learners and community members.

19 November 2015

As you all know, I will be retiring at the end of this year.

I want to express my gratitude to fellow colleagues (school and district), past and current learners, parents, SGB members and community members, who were responsible for the input in my successes and achievements, small though it may have been. Thank you that I have been privileged to have been a contributor in your lives.

After 33 years serving in the education profession, I have countless memories of people and events, the overwhelming majority of them good - actually, very good!  The last 22 years I have spent at Nigel High School. The journey has been eventful and filled with memories of wonderful learners, parents and colleagues who enriched my working and personal life.

To the educators: I am constantly in awe of the level of professionalism you show day in and day out in the performance of your chosen career. I would always refer to education as your calling.  What it means to be part of a profession and to act professionally are concepts that have been reconstructed and reformulated over many years. I believe that every true educator feels that element of calling!

At the commencement of my career a gifted teacher, Dr Piet Moller, said to me “LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO DO SOMETHING WHICH DOES NOT BRING YOU JOY AND HAPPINESS”.   In reflecting on my choices I am content with having been a teacher and a member of this organised profession.

In addition to the extraordinary women and men I have served with, I have had the privilege of working with wonderful, gifted learners and their parents.

However, I reserve my special appreciation for the staff of this school and residence. They have been and continue to be a truly superb and dedicated group.  I SALUTE YOU!

I want to express my gratitude and thanks to the parents for entrusting your children to my care. It was a privilege and honour for me to be part of this school and community.

To each colleague, I want to express my wish, that your careers in education will continue to be expressions of your beliefs and aspirations.

To all, I  wish you the very best for your futures.  May God bless you and keep you safe.

GOODBYE, AND THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR BEING PART OF MY LIFE.
